About Imagelib
IMAGELIB is a listserv that was started in 1994 as a way for librarians and information technologists to share ideas, ask questions, and report on imaging projects. There are approximately 950 subscribers from around the world representing a variety of disciplines and professions. Their common interest is imaging.
Members use the listserv to ask for advice, share release news about projects, announce job vacancies, and post information about conferences.
IMAGELIB is searchable through Jeff Huestis' hypermail archive and through the UA's listserv archives.
Please email Stuart Glogoff at the University of Arizona for more information or for help using Imagelib. You may also download a 38 page user guide [194K PDF].
About The Clearinghouse of Image Databases
Also in 1994, the Clearninghouse of Image Databases was started as a way of sharing information about the projects in which our members are engaged. We identified what data elements to collect information about via discussions on IMAGELIB.
The Clearinghouse may be searched by keyword by visiting clearinghouse.ltc.arizona.edu/search.asp
When someone posts an entry to the Clearinghouse, I tend to report it to the listserv. The submissions form is found at clearinghouse.ltc.arizona.edu/submission_form.asp. If you are submitting an entry, please feel free to alert the listserv about it. It is always a good idea to send me an email that you are doing this because I need to review the submissions and move them from a temporary directory into the searchable database.
